The storyboard is the blueprint of your eLearning solution.
It is a plan that specifies the visual elements, sound elements, interactions and details relevant to the learning solution that will be developed. Simply, a storyboard outlines the learning content, screen by screen. Any developer should be able to pick up a storyboard and successfully develop the learning solution as it was planned.

It ensures you keep everything in line with the ultimate goal(s), limits the amount of text on the screen, and even includes space for comments. I think the part about limiting text is very important. Students don't want to have to read a paragraph on each slide; they want to see the necessary content. I've been a teacher for many years, and now I'm a beginner at instructional design. I think this template will help me start strong. Thank you!

Kim is the founder of Belvista Studios, an award-winning instructional design and eLearning studio. She has significant experience in the industry, being involved in not only the hands-on aspects of the instructional designer role though also the business building and marketing aspects of the industry. She is a passionate eLearning and online learning creator with a background in organisational development, corporate training and graphic design. This extensive experience has led her to coach and mentor others in the industry, aligning with her passion for supporting and helping others to be the best that they can be. Can I develop directly into development software to save time?
Yes but before you do, at least scribble a quick plan down on some paper to view it through a different lens. Planning is a key element to your success. Some projects are straight forward or you’ve got a clear understanding of what the client is looking for and you might feel ready to jump on in, so do this, after scribbling your thoughts out first.
